On July the 24th our club welcomed Robert Agee, President and CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia.
In today’s rapidly evolving geopolitical and economic environment, Robert remains one of the most visible and respected American business figures actively engaged in U.S.–Russia commercial relations. Just weeks ago, at the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), he moderated the Russia–U.S. business dialogue. He has also been at the forefront of discussions around restoring direct flights between the two countries and establishing payment mechanisms in the context of existing SWIFT restrictions.
This was a rare opportunity to hear candid insights from someone deeply embedded in both the strategic and day-to-day challenges of international business under current unprecedented conditions. We talked about the past and current state of Russia relationships and economic ties with international partners and the US in particular, as well as his views on different scenarios of potential future developments.
